Dead Congregation/Purifying Consecrated Ground/2008 CD Review

Dead Congregation are a band from Greece that plays blackened death metal in the classic vein and this is a review of their 2008 album "Purifying Consecrated Ground".

Drums range from slow beats to some very fast and brutal blast beats while the bass playing is all rhythm and follows the riffs coming out of the guitars with a very dark tone.

Rhythm guitars on the album cover a lot of ground with some slow doomy riffs mixed in with some fast death metal playing that takes some influences from black metal while the guitar leads are rooted in the early 90's death metal scene with some melodic guitar solos.

Vocals are very low pitched death metal growls while the lyrics are full of anti Christianity as well as hatred for the white light, as for the production on this album it is very dark sounding while still keeping a very professional sound and you can hear all of the musical instruments.

In my opinion this is probably not the most original album ever made but it is still a very good album and it contains all of the best elements of early 90's death metal, if you are a fan of classic death metal that is very anti-christian you will not be disappointed.

RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Feasting Angelcunts" and "Dowward Spiral Of Morbidity". RECOMMENDED BUY.
