Vacivus are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 ep "Rites Of Ascension" which was released by Goatprayer Records.
Distorted reverb starts off the ep before going into a very heavy doom influenced death metal sound that also utilizes a great amount of morbid sounding melodies and growling vocals and after awhile the music starts to speed up a bit and add in blast beats along with a small amount of black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the songs also bring in a great amount of 90's extreme metal influences and the whole ep sticks to a very dark and heavy musical style from the first to last song.
Vacivus plays a style of death metal that is very dark and evil and also mixes in a great amount of black and doom metal elements to create a very heavy and occult sounding recording, the production sound s very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover Occultism, Death and Transcendence.
In my opinion Vacivus are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rite Of Ascension" and "Hostis Rei". 8 out of 10.
