1.At the moment we are rehearsing a lot getting ready to several shown in spring. One of them is arranged on our own and is called Extreme Sound Fest. This year we’re gonna have a third “chapter” of the Fest. We’re preparing a lot of new material to be included into the coming release.
2.How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recordings?
2. When recorded, we use various tube amps and other analog equipment trying to avoid all this modern stuff… but of course one can do nothing without computers nowadays. We’re aiming at that good old school sound – no popular modern crap.
3.The last release came out in 2012, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on during that time period?
3.After the recent release we had a kind of anabiosis state for a while – few rehearsals and rare shows. Nevertheless, 2015turned to be quite active: we visited many new places, had concerts in various cities and venues.
4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band over the years have explores with their music?
4. Our lyrics dwells upon various images. Mainly it is dedicated to anticlericalism, war, death, the past and the present. But, for instance, there are songs dedicated to some particular people. Tough music means tough lyrics.
5.Originally the band was known as 'Formalin' then "mortal Silence', what was the cause of the name changes and also the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Grosad'?
5.In the very beginning we also played songs by the groups I used to be a member of before GROSAD, that’s why one can find them mentioned in our official biography. GROSAD is an abbreviation of several words included into the full name of the group. There are dozens of version of what it actually means but the most original one is top secret. I hope the reason is clear. Let me put it mild: our music and world view are not, so to say, supported by the authorities and the public in the country where we live.
6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
6. We had many shows over the recent years. Both very successful and not quite. Most successful and memorable ones took place mainly abroad – not in our country. Mainly they took place in Ukraine. During the show we are the same as in everyday life, and our show is usually a flood of real metal.
7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
7. Sure, we have many plans. It’s normal. At the moment we are thinking of arrangingsome shows in neighboring states. Maybe, someday we will be mature enough to have a real tour, but these are still plans.
8.On the last release you did a cover of Death's "Misanthrope", what was the decision of doing your own version of this song?
8.Well, we do admire Chuck and his “legacy”, and songs by Death have been performed by us several times. But it was a mere coincidence , that we decided to play that very composition then. So, it just happened.
9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death and black metal?
9. Frankly speaking,it’s too early to speak of such characterization. Anyway I don’t know any examples thereof.
10.Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?
10. Currently, ourdrummerandmearefocusedonGrosad, whileourbassplayer is helping one more local band playing totally different stuff. We used to have dozens of bands and project but now no time and desire to get side-tracked by some by-product.
11.When can we expect new music and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
11.Now we are in process of recording a couple of new songs but we don’t want to rush and hurry with it. Quality is top priority for us, so, it will take some time to release this new material.
12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
12. Several groups like Deicide, Slayer,Hypocrisy,Vital Remains, Hate, Krisiun, Morbid Angel, Death have serious impact on us, as well as many other bands of that period. We still listen to them, but I prefer diversity and don’t want to be limited to metal only.
13.Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in your music?
13. No. Nothing of the kind in our lyrics. One can find religious and anticlerical motives in our texts, which might be a bit misleading sometimes
14.What are some of your non musical interests?
14.Apart from music we’ve got many other hobbies. Me, for example, – hundreds of them. I love sport – especially, powerlifting. Yes, it takes quite a lot of time. I’m also fond of tattoos – and even make some “tatouage” to others. Our bass player is nuts about nature. He’s got his own pagan temple in the forest where he spends quite a lot of time. Our drummer is a father of two kids, but I’m sure it’s not his ultimate dream.
